Had a really dreadful experience with it so far. FIM70 was delivered to us on 6/18 and found out it was not working on 6/19. Have to call Sears for services. Technicians came 3 times so far and as of 7/11, the icemaker is tranquil not working.
We received the first ice machine badly damaged but hadn't opened the box before UPS left so didn't realize it for a couple of days. To Amazon's credit they gave credit for the first one immediately and shipped a second at my query. When the second one came we checked it as soon as it came in the door and it was even more badly damaged than the first so we sent it encourage.
The distress seems to be due to the dreadful packaging- so very minute protection for such an expensive item! I have been forced to go elsewhere and expend hundreds more for a machine that produces less in the hopes that the manufacturer will know how to package it's machines for shipment.
Well, I bought mine from another source. The unit was sizable and made perfect ice. Two problems though. First, it seems to snappy freeze the ice and then dumps it in an insulated box. But, the box is not refrigerated, only insulated. So the ice melts comely hasty which leaves you with a lot of wasted water. Second, and the reason we did not maintain it, it is crazy loud! Louder than any other kitchen appliance. And it runs on & off all day and night. So, I am unexcited looking.
